If you’re looking to sample a taste of moose meat, Frontier Restaurant is the place to go. They’re one of the few establishments licensed to serve moose, and they do it up right. Enjoy a spicy moose burger and fries, or tuck into a moose meat dinner of tender, bottled moose. You won’t go wrong with either choice.

Also on offer is a daily choice of fresh seafood. The restaurant is famous for its seafood chowder, and you can top off your meal with lovely tarts made from local berries. Hint: for a true taste of The Rock, try the bakeapple tarts.

The establishment is fully licensed, which means you can savor an iceberg beer with your meal and/or try a bottle of Quidi Vidi, brewed right here in Newfoundland.

The dining area itself is small and homey–decorated in a faux frontier style in keeping with the log cabin cottages also on the property–and the staff is super friendly. If you’re lucky enough to get Delilah as your waitress, she’ll be happy to regale you with stories of yesteryear that are well worth a listen.
